For our client - a global professional services organization - we are looking for a Data Acquisition Category Manager to join a global data-focused function. In this role, you will support the way the organization identifies, sources, manages and scales external and third-party data assets. You will work closely with business, procurement, finance, risk and legal stakeholders to ensure that data acquisitions are aligned with business priorities, governance requirements and long-term value creation.
Data Acquisition Category Manager
Your role
- Manage assigned data categories across the full lifecycle, including category planning, vendor evaluation, onboarding, negotiations, performance monitoring and compliance oversight.
- Work with Procurement, Finance, Legal, Risk and business stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into clear data requirements.
- Identify suitable third-party data products and providers based on business demand, market insights and the organization’s broader data strategy.
- Maintain up-to-date category inventories, vendor/product scorecards and reporting to support decision-making, renewals and recommendations.
- Develop and execute category strategies, taking into account market trends, emerging business needs, risks and priorities.
- Oversee vendor and product management activities, including assessment, onboarding, ongoing monitoring, issue escalation and lifecycle management.
- Support negotiations related to licensing, intellectual property, privacy, usage rights and commercial terms.
- Contribute to budget planning, cost optimization and financial analysis, including TCO and ROI assessments.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve category performance, manage risks and maximize the value of external data investments.

Requirements
- Experience in data management, data supply chains, vendor management or procurement within an international or global organization.
- Strong understanding of licensing models, intellectual property considerations and data usage rights.
- Proven negotiation skills and experience managing vendor or product lifecycles.
- Commercial and strategic mindset, with the ability to plan and execute category strategies in a structured way.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build effective relationships across functions and geographies.
- Analytical approach to decision-making, supported by usage, consumption, cost and ROI insights.
- Bachelor’s degree or at least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Very good command of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
- Readiness to work in a hybrid model from Katowice or Wrocław.
